Easter Weekend...

We had many visistors stop by this past week/weekend over the Easter holiday. Owen was pleased that so many people want to hang out with him! You always hear the phrase "he's growing like a weed"...but you don't really understand until you have one of your own and you can literally see them change from day to day...and he is certainly growing! He's such a joy to be around. Although mom and dad have completely lost all concept of time...it's wonderful anyways!!!

Bev (Jeff's mom) had an extended stay with us and got know Owen much better over the course of about a week. Amy's mom and dad came up for the weekend and we all got to have Easter dinner together. Thank you Bev and Marsha for whipping up that meal!!! Oh, and we all went to Red Lobster on Friday night...our first venture out of the house to eat! Owen slept through the salad, the biscuits, the beer, and the main course...good boy!!!

Our friends Craig and Jessica Elfrink stopped by to visit with us late Sunday afternoon on their way back to Kansas City and we got to introduce their son Oliver to Owen!!! The two hit it off although neither did much talking to one another :) Our friend Angie stopped by early in the week to visit and meet Mr. Owen. Angie works with Amy for Hershey's and she didn't disappoint as she loaded us up with Whoppers galore!!! Pics from the week/weekend are below...

FYI---many have asked how Molly (our pup) is doing with Owen. So far...so good! She really has been very gentle with him and we think she's going to be a great pet for him growing up!

An Exciting Weekend...

Owen went to the doctor today for his regular checkup and came away with a clean bill of health. He weighed 7lbs 3oz and had gained almost 8oz from a week ago!!! The doctor checked him over quite well...poked and prodded him...which resulted in Owen giving him a pee shower...Happy St. Paddy's Day Doc! Below are some images from the weekend...enjoy!

Owen officially made it through his first weekend. He's been such a joy to be around! We've had some visitors stop by and take a peek and meet our little guy over the past week. Amy's Aunt Bet and Uncle Ray Gene stopped by and said hello as they were in Columbia to watch Scott County Central play ball. And then on Saturday night, we had the Heurings stop by to visit for awhile as they were visiting relatives in Jeff City.

A week old already!!!

We can't believe it but Owen will be one week old today! Mom and baby are doing well. Amy's mom has been up helping us since last week...since we're kind of new at this parenting thing...and we really appreciate what she's done. Plenty of family came to visit over the weekend to say their "hellos" to Owen. He responded with plenty of cries and dirty diapers. Amy's Dad and Grandma Violet stayed with us over the weekend and Grandma and Grandpa Augustine spent some time with us as well.

We can't believe how much our little guy has changed just over the course of a week! He looks so different. Owen went to the doctor on Saturday and Dr. Harris gave him a clean bill of health and said he's doing fine. That must mean the parents are doing okay so far right? We went back to the doctor on Monday for a follow up and Owen had gained 3oz!!! If only dad could control his weight so well! Enough rambling...here's some updated pictures of our bundle of joy!

We welcome Owen Michael to the world!!!

Owen Michael Augustine was born March 5th, 2008 @ 1:35pm at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Both he and mom did wonderful and dad couldn't be more proud of them both! He truly is a gift from God and we are so excited to have him in our lives! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and we can't wait to show him off!!!
